How to be Fashionable in a Budget?

Being fashionable is not an easy feat especially if you want to be “in” in the fashion trend. While it is nice to be up-to-date with the current, a lot of clothing lines are quite expensive and not everyone can afford to buy expensive clothing. However, you should always keep in mind that you can be fashionable even in a budget. Here are the things that you can do.

Know what you want

You need to assess yourself what types of clothes you like. These types of clothing should also represent the real you without having to worry about what others think.

Fit and Comfort

Being in the trend does not mean that it fits you. So even if you wear the most expensive clothing, it does not guarantee that you will look good on it. Of course, your body type must be considered. It would be better to wear something that will highlight your assets and hide your flaws.

Another consideration is your comfort. There is no sense wearing “fashionable” clothing but you are dying inside because you don’t feel good in it. With these things in mind, you should know what you want.

Mix and match

The best way to be fashionable in a budget is to mix and match. Get basic clothing such as classic blue jeans, little black dress and white t-shirt or polo. These items are a staple in every wardrobe, so you should have them. Once you have them, you can simply accessorize them or match them with your other clothing. For example, for the little black dress, you can wear it over and over again without other people noticing it. Just wear a necklace, statement earrings or even a shawl with it.

With the basic white shirt, you can wear it with jeans, skirt or with shorts. You can glam it up too with accessories.

Buy in thrift stores

Thrift stores will surely have something really nice at a fraction of a cost. Again, to make these things look better, you have to learn how to mix and match them with your other pieces. On the other hand if there are fabrics that you like but the style are not really that nice, you can still buy and have them altered. This is great if you know how to sew.

If you are good at sewing, you can check tutorial videos on how to alter clothes. Perhaps, you can alter the pieces that you already have. For example, an old pair of jeans, you can make shorts with it or a sling bag. The possibilities are endless.

Glam up your look.

Sometimes, it all takes a simple red lipstick and you are ready. Invest on a good lipstick. This way, even if you are not totally made up, you will look beautiful and right with your lip color.

The hair is indeed your crowning glory. The way you fix your hair can also add in your fashion statement. Spend time to fix it. If you are in a hurry, a messy bun will do the trick.

Remember, you do not need a lot of money to be fashionable. You can still be glamorous in a budget.
