How To Move On and Forward From A Failed Relationship

Love is more than just a feeling; it is a commitment. When you love someone, you tend to give your all and there is nothing wrong with that. After all, that’s what love is supposed to be; an unconditional offering of yourself to others.

However, in reality, we don’t always get the love that we deserve. We are sometimes treated badly to the point that we end up hurting ourselves too. Take for example the kind of relationships where men seem to ignore their partner’s feelings; while the women give their time effort and commit themselves to the men that they thought that they would treat them right.  However, in the long run, things will get worse and women are not treated right at all.

In most cases, a woman would stick to the relationship hoping that the man would change. But more often than not, a man would never change and will never change except for themselves. You cannot expect a man would change overnight just because you want to. The reality is he will change because he wants to.

So how do you move on from a failed relationship?

It takes a lot of courage to move on from a relationship especially if you are with the person for a long time. Just think about forgetting about the things that you both used to do together; the long hours of calls, the dinners and also the fun stuffs. Sometimes, the “getting used to” of those simple things what makes it difficult to move on. But know that only time can heal you. Yes, it will be hard in the beginning but as time passes by, you will realize that it is not that bad at all. Humans as we are, we have a tendency that we want to be okay right away. But the harder we try to move on, the more difficult it is.

Another thing you can do is by keeping yourself busy. You do a lot of things such as getting a new hobby. Make yourself productive by doing the things you wanted to do for a long a time. For example, try out the things that fear you the most; conquer your fears. You can also do the things that he never wanted you to do. This will help you empower yourself.

Going out with your family and friends is also a good thing. Perhaps, you have not given them a lot of time when you used to date someone. Then this time is the ideal time to catch up with them. Never burn bridges when you are in a relationship, always make sure that you connect with family and friends because they are the only people that you can run to especially in these trying moments. Do not be that needy person who only runs to family and friends when you need them.

Lastly, love yourself more. Only in loving yourself will help you realize that you are better than you think you are.
